Nifty ends below 8000; Sensex tanks for 6th day, down 385 pts

                                   

Equity benchmarks remained under pressure as the Sensex was down 385.10 points or 1.47 percent at 25765.14 and the Nifty down 145 points or 1.80 percent at 7929.10, erasing all 2016 gains. The Sensex has seen the biggest losing streak since March 2015.

About five shares declined for every share rising on the BSE.

Nifty turns volatile after reclaiming 8100 in opening; HDFC down -- 21 Nov 2016

                                                 

The market had lost nearly 7 percent in last four consecutive weeks.The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 93.32 points at 26243.56 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 28 points at 8102.10.Asian Paints, Adani Ports, Coal India, Lupin, Bosch and Bank of Baroda gained 1-2 percent whereas Tata Motors, HDFC, Dr Reddy's Labs and Bharti Airtel were under pressure. 

The Indian rupee has opened flat at 68.10 per dollar today against Friday's closing value of 68.12 a dollar.

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was down 0.04 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.05 per cent higher. 

Adani Ports (up 1.05 per cent), GAIL IndiaBSE 0.77 % (up 0.84 per cent), Bharti AirtelBSE -0.23 % (up 0.63 per cent), Tata Steel (up 0.62 per cent), and Coal IndiaBSE 0.47 % (up 0.60 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers.

Sensex, Nifty ranged; Tata Steel, Bharti Infratel top losers

                                   

The market has ended lower with the Nifty near 6-month low. The Nifty is down 5.85 points at 8074.10 and the Sensex is down 77.38 points at 26150.24. About 1312 shares have advanced, 1277 shares declined, and 166 shares are unchanged.  NTPC, Sun Pharma, Bharti, Hero MotoCorp and M&M were gainers while Tata Steel, ITC, GAIL, Asian Paints and HDFC Bank.

Nifty opens below 8100, Sensex flat; Tata Motors, ITC laggrads -- 18 Nov 2016

                         

The market has opened flat with the Nifty below 8100. Teh 50-share index is up 17.60 points or 0.2 percent at 8097.55 while the Sensex is up 8.05 points or 0.03% at 26235.67.

BHEL, Wipro, Bharti, Adani and Axis Bank are top gainers while Tata Motors, ITC, Tata Steel, Cipla and L&T are losers in the Sensex.

The 30-share index was trading 4 points lower or 0.01 per cent at 26,224. It touched a high of 26,272.84 and a low of 26,178.41 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 8,078 down 2 points or 0.02 per cent. It touched a high of 8,104.65 and a low of 8,073.05 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.22 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.09 per cent lower. 

Bajaj Auto (up 1.2 per cent), GAIL India (up 0.95 per cent), NTPC (up 0.8 per cent), ONGC (up 0.7 per cent), and M&M (up 0.64 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers. 

Dr Reddy's Laboratories (down 1.4 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.01 per cent), ITC (down 0.97 per cent), Sun Pharma (down 0.81 per cent), and Coal India (down 0.4 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.

Nifty ends below 8100 for 1st time since June 27, Tata Motors up

   

The market has closed in red after a volatile day. The Nifty has closed below 8100 for first time since June 27. The Sensex is down 71.07 points or 0.3 percent at 26227.62 and the Nifty is down 31.65 points or 0.4 percent at 8079.95.  About 960 shares have advanced, 1660 shares declined, and 154 shares are unchanged.

 Bharti Airtel, TCS, Bajaj Auto, Coal India and Asian Paints are losers while Tata Motors, BHEL, Cipla, GAIL and NTPC are gainers in the Sensex.

Nifty eyes 8150, Sensex gains gradually; BHEL, Tata Motors gain -- 17 Nov 2016

                                     

The market is starting to pick up pace as the Sensex is up 91.46 points or 0.3 percent at 26390.15. The Nifty is up 22.10 points or 0.3 percent at 8133.70. About 1052 shares have advanced, 557 shares declined, and 76 shares are unchanged. Axis Bank, BHEL, Tata Motors, GAIL and Bharti Airtel are top gainers while Dr Reddy's Labs, Asian Paints, Hero MotoCorp, Wipro and Bajaj Auto are losers in the Sensex.

Sensex stocks Axis BankBSE 1.49 %, Tata MotorsBSE 1.94 %, LupinBSE 0.37 % and SBI jumped 2.10 per cent, 1.90 per cent, 1.52 per cent and 1.30 per cent, respectively. 

Top Sensex losers included Dr Reddy's, WiproBSE -1.70 % and Power Grid which fell 0.95 per cent, 0.70 per cent and 0.70 per cent, respectively.
